[Announcement] New Site!

Hey guys, it’s been a while.

The title might be a bit misleading but it is true. The site is effectively new. Yes… the site redesign I teased and talked about more than a month ago is finally here! It should have come earlier but ‘Sonnet kept flaking till I took matters into my own hands.

How do you find it? I’m fishing for compliments here!

I have tested it for issues and I would like you as well. However, in the interest of full disclosure, I would like to inform all of you that I am absolutely TERRIBLE at web design. Just this took me two days to get right and that’s discounting the period used for research into what I wanted and what I needed to learn and do.

If it escaped you, I studied wordpress for days just to be able to do this (I’ll never take sinisterSonnet for granted again) and even so I must confess that the site is NOT COMPLETE. There were a bunch of features I hoped to add that I have been unable to such as have patreon as a premium tier for the site as promised with things like;

• verified comments.
• priority messaging.
• native patreon gateway

I did succeed where posts and logins are concerned but that was with the use of a plugin. The last item is coming along but that is honestly quite clumsily done on my part. As for the first two, … that’s just out of my league for now.

Take the new site as an indicator of the changes I promised coming together. I’ve spent some time improving myself in all the necessary fields. Even studying a smidgen of marketing to help with the coming launch. Although I did have to cut that short because there was honestly too much to cover. It has become abundantly clear to me why traditional authors don’t market their books. Let’s just pray what I did learn will be effective.

So… yeah to borrow from my former employers; New site! Same Story! Why it took so long is a story of its own that would not be covered. I’ll be holding interviews for editors etc later. Let’s get back to the damned writing already!

EDIT: Yes, this happened. Too bad it never came out when it was intended. I had a stroke of misfortune. Fried my devices via a faulty wall socket. Took some saving to replace them. Even so, it is still relevant.
